Chapter 5  Maintaining the TimeHub 5500
Upgrading the Software

9. Click 

Go

 to start the download.

10.Click 

OK

 to complete the download when the Success dialog box appears.

11.Check the condition of the TimeHub by issuing the following TL1 command:

12.On the computer’s Start menu, click Run. The Run dialog box appears.

13.Type 

cmd

 in the Run dialog box, then click 

OK

. The cmd.exe window appears.

14.Type ftp <ip address>, then press Enter, where <ip address> is the ip address of 

the TimeHub.

15.Enter your user name and password to log in.

16.Type 

cd clk1

 or 

cd clk2

, depending on which Clock card you just upgraded, 

then press Enter.

17.Type 

dir

, then press Enter. The TimeHub returns important information about 

the card, as shown in 

Figure 5-16

. If 

Istate valid = 1

 appears, then the 

upgrade was successful. If another value is shown, stop the upgrade procedure 
and call Symmetricom Global Services.

Warning:

 To avoid corrupting the file system, do not power down the 

shelf or remove cards while the software is downloading.
