Installing Modules into the Rear Panel

Installing the NTP Output Connector Module

Symmetricom provides two NTP Output Connector modules for use in the Master 
shelf, and one NTP Connector module for use in the Expansion shelf.

Master Shelf

You 

must

 install the NTP Output Connector module in the output group that 

corresponds with the front panel slot in which the NTP Server card is installed. 

When you install the NTP Server card in any slot from A1 to C6, install the 
double-wide NTP Output Connector module (part number 090-55594-01) in the 
corresponding group (A, B, or C) on the rear panel of the Master shelf, or 

Install a single-wide NTP Output Connector module (part number 
090-55594-03) on ports 1–20 of groups A, B, or C. Leave ports 21–40 blank.

When you install the NTP Server card in slot D7 or D8, install the single-wide 
NTP Output Connector module (part number 090-55594-03) in Group D on the 
rear panel of the Master shelf.

1. Align the pins on the rear of the module with the connector on the shelf 

2. Carefully seat the module onto the shelf.

3. Tighten the captive screws located at the top and bottom of the module.
