Chapter 4 Testing and Configuring the TimeHub
Testing the NTP Cards
Verifying the Bonding Mode Function
This test verifies that the NTP Server card is functioning and sending NTP packets
while in Bonding Mode.
1. Verify the state of the bonding mode:
RTRV-EQPT::Sa-OUTb:CTAG:::PARAMETER=BONDMODE;
where
a = shelf number 0 to 4 (0 = Master, 1 – 4 = Expansion)
b = NTP card group A – D on Master shelf, or
b = NTP card group A – H on Expansion shelf
If the response is Y, skip to step 3.
2. Enable the bonding mode if not already active:
ED-EQPT:::Sa-OUTb:CTAG:::BONDMODE=ACTSTBY;
ED-EQPT::Sa-OUTb:CTAG:::NTPPAIR=APPLYCFG;
where a and b are described in step 1.
3. Verify that Port A is the active port:
RTRV-NTP-INFO:::Sa-OUTnb:CTAG::REDUND;
where
a = shelf number 0 to 4 (0 = Master, 1 – 4 = Expansion)
b = NTP card group A – D on Master shelf, or
b = NTP card group A – H on Expansion shelf
n = NTP card slot 1 – 8 on Master shelf, or
n = NTP card slot 1 – 16 on Expansion shelf
If the response is Y, skip to step 5.
4. Activate Port A by issuing the following commands:
ED-EQPT:::Sa-OUTb:CTAG:::NTPPAIR=ACTA;
ED-EQPT::Sa-OUTb:CTAG:::NTPPAIR=APPLYCFG;
where a and b are described in step 1.
