2-4 Installing DIMMs
CAUTION
Exercise extreme care when installing or removing DIMM
modules to prevent any possible damage.
Memory Module Installation (See Figure 2-2)
1. Install SDRAM memory modules into DIMM slots.
2. Insert each memory module vertically into its slot. Pay attention to
the two notches along the bottom of the module to prevent inserting
the DIMM incorrectly.
3. Gently press down on the memory module until it snaps into place.
4. For the 370DDE, four PC 133 SDRAM DIMM sockets support up to
4GB of PC133 unbuffered, registered SDRAM. ECC type memory is
supported. PC133 and PC100 memory are both fully supported at
their respective speeds. For the 370SDA, three DDR RAM DIMM
sockets support up to 3 GB of unbuffered PC1600 (100 MHz) or
unbuffered PC2100 (266 MHz) DDR RAM. The DDR RAM DIMM
sockets and the installation of DDR RAM memory are similar to what
is shown for the SDRAM.
To Install:
