6.8.3 Subsequent extension of storage capacity
NOTICE
Destruction of the battery modules or storage system if specifications for ex-
tending storage capacity are not observed
Damage to or destruction of the battery modules if storage capacity is exten-
ded without observing the corresponding specifications and when battery
modules are connected in series in the storage system.

Always extend storage capacity by two additional battery modules.
„
Measure and compare the battery module voltage before installation.
• The serial connection between the battery modules must be observed when extending
storage capacity. This means that at least two battery modules must always be installed.
• The battery modules to be installed must have an SOC of approx. 30%. Observe the in-
formation in section Storing the battery modules [P. 12] concerning this.

Use the commissioning assistant to set the Operating Mode Battery-Module-Exten-
sion.
NOTICE! This must take place at least 24 hours before extension, as this is the
only way the voltage of the installed battery modules can sufficiently adjust to the
voltage of the new battery modules to be installed.

Switching the storage system off to electrically isolate it [P. 83].

Remove the cover of the storage system.
„
Positioning the battery modules [P. 43].

Check or add to the battery cables and BMS communication lines of all installed bat-
tery modules. The connection sequence described in section Connecting the battery
modules [P. 45] must absolutely be followed.

Mark the new storage capacity on the type plate of the storage system (on the switch
panel of the power module). Clearly void out the marking for the old storage capacity.

Attaching and earthing the cover [P. 76].

Switching the storage system on [P. 79].
„
Change the operating mode from module extension to the right operating mode (e.g.
Automatic - Self-Consumption) in the commissioning assistant.
