9.6.2 Positioning components in the electrical distributor
The following components must be installed in the electrical distributor for the
sonnenProtect:
• Miniature circuit breaker (MCB) | type B | 20 A
A miniature circuit breaker with type B tripping characteristics and a nominal current of
20 A must be installed in the mains line
at the input line (Mains line for sonnenProtect, see
Overview – sonnenProtect lines [P. 67]) of the sonnenProtect.
• Residual current device (RCD)
A residual current device (RCD) must be installed at the output of the sonnenProtect. This
RCD protects against electric shock in the backup circuit. A residual current device (RCD)
that meets the relevant country-specific regulations and is suitable for local grid conditions
must be used.
9.6.3 Wiring the sonnenProtect

The backup circuit has been properly installed. The information in section Installing the
backup circuit(s) [P. 68] was observed at all times.

Connect the sonnenProtect and the other components in the electrical distributor as
shown in the following figure.
• Figure 'Circuit diagram overview – electrical connection in single-phase mains [P. 71]’
shows the installation of a sonnenBatterie 10 with a sonnenProtect 4000 in single-phase
mains.
• The area marked in grey shows the system extension where the sonnenProtect was ad-
ded.
