Broadcast Commands
This section describes how to configure broadcast storm control for the switch.
broadcast packet-rate
This command configures the global broadcast storm control threshold level.
Syntax
broadcast packet-rate
rate
rate
- Threshold level as a rate; i.e., packets per second.
(Range: 240 - 1488100)
Default Setting
500 packets per second

Command Usage
• When broadcast traffic exceeds the specified threshold, packets above that
threshold are dropped.
• The specified threshold value applies to all ports on the switch.
Example
The following shows how to configure broadcast storm control at 600 packets per
second:
switchport broadcast
This command enables broadcast storm control on an interface. Use the
no
form to
disable broadcast storm control on an interface.
