Order of preferences for NMEA sentences
RADAR 4600 enables a number of different NMEA sources as input for speed, position and course.
If equivalent data are received, an order of preference is set to select high graded data at first. If a source is
faulty, the system changes automatically to next available source.
Following NMEA strings are accepted for calculation of radar presentation.
The NMEA strings are sorted from highest to lowest quality:
Heading:
THS > HDT > VHW
Course OG:
VTG > RMC
Course TW:
VBW > VHW
Speed OG:
VTG > RMC > VBW
Speed TW:
VBW > VHW
Position:
GNS > GGA > GLL > RMC

Operational hours of transceiver
Because the magnetron, the main transmit module only has a limited lifetime, stated by reducing power of
radar transmit power, a regarding lifetime counter is included. It counts the hours of transmit time, not the
hours of total system operational time.
To check the total operational hours of transceiver:
click menu-button [RADAR] to open menu 'RADAR SELECT'
click the menu-topline to open sub menus
click submenu 'Operational hours'
Check the popup window with 'TX Ontime hours'.

User Control Settings
A default setting speeds familiarisation by quickly putting operator controls in a
known state, a uniform starting-point for all radars from which further
adjustments can be made to suit the conditions at hand. The configuration
specified in the table below is selectable by a simple operator action followed by
an action to confirm the selection.
A facility is provided to store and recall user-specific settings that result after
adjustments to suit the conditions at hand. Selection for recalling a stored
configuration is followed by an action to confirm the selection.

the sensor selection and distribution is
performed by bridge applications like
Conning. RADAR 4600 receives a
predefined set of data.
