Collision situation
Next examples show a collision situation.
To get a clear dangerous situation, the course of test target was altered something to Port (three past
positions backwards). To make the situation more obvious, Vector mode is set to Relative.
To check the different navigation data,
the test target is separate selected (in
this example, no. 10). All relating data
are shown in the Target list.
Because Relative mode is selected, the
speed value of target is high and
course value has altered as summation
of own ship speed and course plus
target speed and course.
Correct values will be shown in True vector mode. - Without OS vector it is more difficult to get an optic
estimation about collision situation. But when OS vector is activated, it will be very easy to estimate the
collision situation (see following example), because both vectors have the same time length. So the
advanced situation is more clearly readable.
In True mode, all target navigation values are true values.
