5.3.1 View the Sonar Image
The wedge-shaped image in the center of the main display screen is called the
sonar image. This image shows the complete water column (swath) illuminated
by a single transmitted “Ping”.

5.3.2 Identify Range and Bearing
Below the sonar image are the Across-
Track (“X”), Depth (“Z”) and Range (“R”)
of a particular point on the sonar image (see
). The Cursor Position
Block will change as the mouse pointer passes over the sonar image, indicating
the “X,” “Z,” and “R” of the pointer‟s current position on the image.
5.3.3 Date and Time Display
The system date and time are displayed in the lower left corner of the Main
Sonar Display (see
). This time is provided by a battery-powered
clock/calendar within the sonar processor. To adjust the time setting, see
sections C.3.1.12 Date
