3.1 Chapter Overview
This chapter contains information as to the safety precautions that should be
taken in handling and operating your
SeaBat™
system.
3.2 Operator Safety
The SeaBat 8160 system should be handled with attention to operator safety as
well as protection of the hardware components. General precautions include:
DO NOT
connect or disconnect cables with power on.
DO NOT
attempt to open and service the sonar array.
DO NOT
operate the system while divers are in the water.
DO NOT
touch or handle any internal printed circuit boards without
specific instructions from RESON.
DO NOT
touch the projector face while the system is in operation, as the
high-frequency vibrations can cause bodily harm.
3.3 Equipment Safety
Each
SeaBat™ component is sufficiently robust for shipboard storage while in its
own transit case or shipping box, which include handles and tie-down rings. Use
appropriate discretion in lifting these components, as the cases may be awkward
and heavy.
