8. The pipette tip is at the correct height when the solution droplet contacts the 

graphite surface just before leaving the tip.

Note

If the pipette tip is 

too far 

above the platform and the droplet does not 

contact the graphite surface, the liquid may remain in the tip, leading to 
pipetting errors.

too close

 to the platform, the liquid may hang up on the
