DS1 Channel Modules
DS1 channel modules accept DS0s from a T1 interface on the channel side of a 740 multiplexer
and multiplex them onto the aggregate data stream. DS1 channel modules can be configured for
1.544 Mbps DS1 or 1.544 Mbps Extended DS1 framing and ZCS or B8ZS line coding.
Use the Change DS-1 Channel Module Configuration (chdcmc) command to change the
parameters and switch the service states for DS1 channel modules. Make sure that all assigned
parameters match those of the incoming DS1 signal. There are only two available service states as
follows:
active
The module is in service and functioning normally.
out-of-service
The module is not in service.

Network Administration Ports (NAPs)
The network administration port (NAP), which is an RS-232 port on the node, provides
administrative access to the node or to the control network. It can also be used to connect an event
log printer to the network and to route SDL traffic. All ACCULINK nodes have two NAPs.
Execute the Change Network Administration Port Configuration (chnapc) command to configure a
NAP from the 6800 Series NMS as one of the following types.
supervisory
Configured as an interface for an ASCII terminal or PC terminal emulator to the
ACCULINK terminal interface at a node. A NAP configured this way can be connected
to a private line or switched network modem for remote access.
