Each multiplexer node that NMS supports is identified by a unique node number (1 to 249). A
node is a multiplexer with integrated packet-switching software. The multiplexers included in this
class are the 731/74x, 74x-56K, and the 719.
When a device profile is created or edited for a command-supported node, the NMS sends a
command to the network to obtain the node’s model number, version number (feature package) and
product type (series 700 for the chassis and CPU types listed below). If the data and node are
accessible to the NMS, the NMS will populate the model number, version number and product
type fields as shown in Table 1-1.
In Table 1-1, Chassis is the chassis type of the multiplexer; CPU is the type of CPU software
loaded; Aggregate Interface is the speed of the aggregate or physical link; Device Type is the
NMS device type used for this combination; and Model Number is the model number used in the
NMS device profile for this combination.
