Dialing From the Keyboard
1. Press Phone .
2. Press the numbered keys to enter the phone
number. (You don’t need to press
Option .)
3. Press Talk to dial.
Dialing by Contact Name
Before you can dial a call by contact name, you must
create some contacts (see “Adding a Contact” on page 216), or import them by
synchronizing (see “Synchronizing Information—The Basics” on page 35).
1. Press Phone .
2. Select the Contacts favorite button.
3. Using the keyboard, start entering one of the following for
the contact you want to call:

First name (JOH for John).
䡲
Last name (SMI for Smith).
䡲
First initial and last name (JSM for John Smith).
For example, entering SM might display Smilla Anderson, John
Smith, and Sally Martin. Entering JSM finds only John Smith.
4. Select the number you want to call, and press Talk to dial.
Tip: To see more information for a contact, highlight the name and press
Center on the 5-way. To restart your search, press Backspace to delete
letters you’ve entered, or select Cancel to return to Main view.
