Attach the Paper Deck to the main unit.
Cause : The paper deck (option) is not attached properly to the main unit.
Remedy : Attach the paper deck (option) firmly to the main unit.
Best size LTR is not loaded.
Cause : There is no paper that matches the optimal copy size in any of the paper feeding
locations.
Remedy : Load paper of the indicated size, or select another paper size. (See “Loading
Paper,” on p. 3-2)
Cannot staple this many sheets.
Cause : The number of output sheets exceeded the bin’s stapling capacity.
Remedy : Check the number of copies specified, and reduce the number if it exceeds the
maximum stapling capacity. For information on the maximum number of sheets
that can be stapled together for the different paper sizes and types, see “Staple-
sort Function,” on p. 5-39.
Check the stapler unit.
Cause : The stapler unit is not functioning properly.
Remedy : Check if a staple jam has occurred. (See “Removing Jammed Staples,” on p. 5-
64.) If the stapler sorter (option) does not return to its normal condition, contact
your service representative.
Cleaning the drum...
Cause : The transfer drum is being cleaned.
Remedy : Wait for a while.
Cleaning the feeder...
Cause : The feeder (option) is being cleaned.
Remedy : Wait for a while. To cancel Feeder Cleaning, press [Cancel]. (See “Cleaning the
Feeder,” on p. 2-39.)
