Brake test with evaluation by the test stand and
documentation output
Make sure that there are
no
persons in the test stand
area!
Danger to life
for any persons in the test roller area!
Observe the
regulations for the prevention of acci-
dents
!
In case of danger, press the
„EMERGENCY STOP switch“ (13)!
For the evaluation by the test stand, the following items must be
provided:
- Remote control (optional extra)
- Log printer (optional extra)
Press the key
C
in the numerical keypad (61).
By this, the old data are deleted.
Deleting by the
C
key is only possible if no mode of operation is
pre-selected. An unintentional deletion of the measuring values is
prevented by this.
Deleting old data is not necessary if the test stand was activated
by the main switch (14). All stored measuring values are deleted
if the test stand is deactivated by the main switch (14) or by the
EMERGENCY STOP
switch (13).

After activation/deactivation of the test stand, the measu-
ring value memory is set to SBS axle 1.
Now, the brake test can be started.
!
Drive the vehicle
slowly
into the roller sets.
Orient yourself by the guiding mark (24).
In doing so, it is guaranteed
- that the wheels are approximately in the middle of the test
rollers,
- that the vehicle is in alignment,
- that the tire shoulder is free and does not touch the cover
sheets.
Select the mode of operation „Automatik“ or „Hand“.
Hold tight the steering wheel after the drive motors were activa-
ted.
If the vehicle
does not stand at right angles
to the test
stand, it will drift to the side!
Danger to life
for any persons in the test roller area!
In case of danger, press the
„EMERGENCY STOP switch“ (13)!
Level out the vehicle by the steering.
If the axle actuated by the parking brake is not to be tested, avoid
a lateral drift of the vehicle by applying the parking brake.
i
Secure the wheels outside the test stand by wheel chocks
if you test the parking brake.
Wet brakes falsify the measuring values.
Brake the brakes dry with medium braking force!
i
You can carry out the SBS and PBS test for each axle in
the same position and successively. Therefore, you have to
allocate the measuring values prior to the brake test by the
remote control unit.
Run-out test
For measuring the run-out, slowly brake up until the set value is
reached (default value is adjustable both for passenger car and
for truck). See assembly instructions 1 689 978 480N, 6.10
configuration routine, test steps A34 and A35.
Automatical measurement of run-out
- The run-out is determined automatically as soon as the braking
force exceeds the set value and is kept constant over a period
> 4 seconds (approximately 1 wheel revolution).
- The indicator light for automatic mode flashes during the
measurement
- The measurement is completed after about 4 seconds (the
indicator light for automatic mode lights up if this mode of
operation was selected).
Manual start of the run-out measurement
The run-out measurement can also be started manually by the
remote control unit.
Start measuring runout
-
Press the key (56)
- Keep constant the braking force 4 seconds to the set value
(about 1 wheel revolution).
- The indicator light for automatic mode flashes during the
measurement.
- The measurement is completed after about 4 seconds (the
indicator light for automatic mode lights up if this mode of
operation was selected).
Test of SBS - axle 1
Press the key
a
(64).
if there is no digital display
press key
a
(64) 1 and
E
(60).
By this, axle 1 of the SBS is set and the rolling friction is taken over
to the computer.
