Motorcycle test device
!
The manufacturer expressly draws your attention to the fact
that the use of the test device is only intended for BT 6xx
which is not installed above a working pit.
!
Pay special attention to the ground clearance of the motor-
cycle when driving into the test stand!
If necessary, the motorcycle must be relieved for driving into
the test stand or for axle change.
Preparation:
For brake tests on motorcycles, the cover plates of the motorcycle
test device (1 987 009 C5YN) must be installed on the roller set
of the brake test stand.
The closed cover sheet is mounted on the left-hand roller set and
the cover sheet with the recess for testing of motorcycles is
installed on the right-hand roller set.
Make sure that the cover sheets and the motorcycle
test device are placed securely onto the roller set.
Motorcycle brake test
Slowly drive the front wheel of the motorcycle into the opening of
the cover wheet above the right-hand roller set for motorcycle
brake test.
!
Please make sure that the motorcycle is always vertical
during the test. The inspector should support the motorcycle
by both legs on the ground.
Measuring front wheel rollering resistance
Anti-lock protection for roller starting
During the starting of the right-hand roller, the brake must not be
operated. Otherwise, the drive motor of the brake test stand is
deactivated immediately.
!
Do not brake
This test step allows a judgement of the front wheel brake
condition with regard to free-running or stuck brake pads.
Measuring front wheel run-out
Slowly brake up to a value of > 300 N and keep this condition until
the indicator light „Automatik“ (8) goes out.
This test step allows a judgement of the condition of the front
brake disc/drum with regard to run-out or wear.
Measuring maximum braking force of front wheel
If the motorcycle’s front wheel brake is operated during
the front wheel test, it must be aboided that the motor-
cycle leaves the brake test stand by operating the
motorcycle’s rear wheel brake at the same time.
Analogously, the same applies fro operating the front
wheel brake during the motorcycle’s rear brake test.
A braking force > 500 N is necessary for starting the measure-
ment for determining the maximum braking force.
Braking up
The slip deactivation comes into operation when the braking force
maximum value (wheel blocking on the roller) is reached. The
measurement is interrupted. The braking value results „Ergebnis
Bremswerte“ will be displayed. Here, the maximum braking force
value is indicated.
Now, follow the prompt to leave the roller set.
Driving out of the roller set is detected.
Now, the rear axle test is carried out. The sequence of the rear
wheel brake test is identical.
