For positioning the wheels, the following display possibilities are
available:
- Wheel is in front of the center position (in direction of travel)
Left-hand pointer is underneath the 8 o’clock position,
right-hand pointer is underneath the 4 o’clock position.
The green slip switching off lamps (3) have been switched off.
- RWheel is behind the center position (in direction of travel)
Left-hand pointer is above the 10 o’clock position,
right-hand pointer is above the 2 o’clock position.
The green slip switching off lamps (3) have been switched off.
- Wheel is steady and centered
Left-hand pointer is above the 9 o’clock position,
right-hand pointer is above the 3 o’clock position.
The green slip switching off lamps (3) have been switched off.
Position the vehicle in such a way that both green slip switching
off lamps (3) illuminate constantly. Now, shift into neutral and
release the brakes.
The indicator light „Automatik“ (8) starts to flash.
Determining the axle load
As soon as a wheel weight higher than the set minimum weight is
detected on the measuring platforms, the process of measuring
the exact wheel weight is started. If no weighing system has been
installed in the roller set, the measuring result is displayed directly
after the measurement on the 14 segment display (28) as axle
load value (left-hand side/right-hand side) and is used for further
measuremens in the brake test stand.
Example:
G: 345 A1 337
Weight axle 1 left-hand side 345 kg right-hand side 337 kg.
By pressing the key „Aus“ at the operator panel or by pressing the
key „Aus“ (52) at the IR remote control (option), the automatic test
sequence can be interrupted at any desired time.
Determining the wheel grip
Now, the measuring process for the left-hand wheel is triggered
automatically. For measuring, the left-hand measuring platform is
set in vertical vibration in order to determine the wheel grip
through the frequency. In order to achieve this, the engine is
started up for the duration of the set motor running time until the
maximum frequency is reached and is then switched off. The
measurement itself is carried out during dieing out.
After this, the right-hand wheel is measured in the same way.
By pressing the key „Aus“ at the operator panel or by pressing the
key „Aus“ (52) at the IR remote control (option), the automatic test
sequence can be interrupted at any desired time.
Measuring value display
The measuring result of the wheel grip is displayed on the 14-
segment-display (28) directly after the measurement as minimum
wheel grip for the left-hand/right-hand wheel in % (EUSAMA).
For example:
EU: 65 A1 67
EUSAMA axle 1 left-hand side 65% right-hand side 67%
If a wheel leaves one of the measuring platforms while it is still
dieing-out, no values can be determined. The vehicle must leave
the measuring platforms and the measuring process must be
repeated.
Explanations for the wheel suspension test:
The minimum wheel grip value A should be > 25%.
A > 45 % = good wheel grip.
A is between 25 - 45% = poor wheel grip.
A < 25% = wheel grip too weak.
The difference between the left-hand wheel and the right-hand
wheel should be below 15%.
D < 15% = acceptable difference.
D > 15% = difference too large.
Wheel suspension test next axle
The measurement of the front axle (display: A1) has been termi-
nated and the vehicle leaves the measuring platform towards the
front.
The rest of the test sequence for the rear axle is identical with that
of the front axle. At first, the axle load and then the wheel grip are
determined.
Once the automatic measuring sequence has been terminated,
the measuring values within the measuring values of the axis can
be called up and displayed by pressing the key „STOP“ (10) at the
operator panel or by pressing the key „O“ (52) at the IR remote
control (option). It is possible to scroll through the display values
using the „change-over“ (62) key at the IR remote control (extra).
Now, the next vehicle can drive onto the test stand, and a new
measurement can be executed.
By pressing the key „manual mode“ (66) at the IR remote control
(extra), the device switches over into the „manual mode“.
Print-ouf of measuring results
By pressing the key combination „Drucken“ (57) „1“ and „Enter“
(60) at the IR remote control (extra), the print-out of the measuring
results is started using the connected printer (extra).
Print-out of the graphical protocol list
By pressing the key combination „Drucken“ (57) „15“ and „Enter“
(60) at the IR remote control (extra), the print-out of the measuring
results is started using the connected printer (extra).
