Operation with weighing device in the
roller set (optional extra)
11.1
Application
The static and dynamic wheel weight force acting upon the rollers
is detected by means of the weighing device. By this testing
method, the braking force course of each individual axis can be
evaluated exactly and the deceleration (braking), referred to the
corresponding wheel and axle weight force, can be determined.
The determination of the entire vehicle weight by adding the
individual values leads to methodical errors in this weighing
system specification, since the wheels in the roller set do not
show the same height as the wheels standing outside of the roller
set. -The larger the difference in height, the larger the methodical
error.
A precondition for the acurate determination of the entire vehicle
weight by weighing the individual axes is a straight and flat driving
surface and to eliminate differences in height between weighing
system (wheel in roller prism) and driving surface.
For two-axle vehicles, the sinking-in of the wheels into the roller
prism can be partly corrected by installing the roller sets in an
elevated position. However, different tire diameters - depending
on the axle distance - lead to an error of procedure which
becomes stronger for vehicles with liquid material to be loaded.
For multi-axle vehicles, the total weight cannot be determined due
to the influence of the wheel suspension.

Test sequence
The weight is continuously measured during the braking process.
The static force due to weight of the relevant axle is stored
together with the rolling friction by the key

(64) on the remote
control. -In case of slip deactivation or deactivation of the test
stand by the key
S
(58) on the remote control, the dynamic force
due to the weight is stored.
The calculation of the deceleration is performed through the
dynamic braking force. If the permissible total weight is entered
through the remote control, the deceleration calculation is addi-
tionally carried out with the permissible total weight.

Function for uncontrolled left-hand, right-
hand running
(optional function)
12.1
Application
i
The special function „four-wheel test“ (1 987 009 C1BN for
BT 610 and BT 640, 1 987 009 C1FN for BT 612 and BT
642) is to be used as function for uncontrolled right-hand/
left-hand running.
i
For carrying out tests,on passenger cars, the optional extra
„pedal force measuring gauge“ (1 987 009 C08N) must be
provided.
If the function for uncontrolled right-hand/left-hand running is
used, the wheels of the axle to be tested are driven in opposite
directions. The braking force is measured for the wheel which is
running in forward direction. A pedal force measuring gauge is
required in order to compare the braking forces of an axle.
!
The vehicle test
must be carried out
according to the vehicle
manufacturer instructions. Especially, the correct wheel con-
dition (same wheel type, tire pressure and tread depth)
must
be observed
.
i
A precise braking force measurement on the wheel without
influencing the torque (with permanent four-wheel drive) is
not possible.
Make sure that there are

area!
Danger to life
for any persons in the test roller area!

dents

In case of danger, press the
„EMERGENCY STOP switch“ (13)!
