Monitor the Message Window for any progress messages. If the test is
successful, the router disconnects from the remote site. If the test is not
successful, you can make changes to the configuration based on progress
messages that appear in the Message Window, and then try again.
Configuring Advanced VPN Connection Profile Options
The IPX options are displayed in this dialog box only if you selected the Share
NetWare (IPX) Resource check box on the BayStack 820 ISDN Router Manager
Configuration dialog box. For details, refer to
“Customizing the BayStack 820
ISDN Router Manager Interface” on page 3-3
.

Field
Description
Profile Name
Enter a name to identify this VPN profile.
Call Direction
Select a call direction. Choose from:
•
Incoming – Select this direction if the remote site will dial in to the router.
•
Outgoing – Select this direction if the router will dial out to the remote site.
•
Both – Select this direction if the remote site will dial in and the router will dial
out. The default direction is Both.
NOTE: If you set the Call Direction to Incoming Only, the My System Name and My
System Password fields are not displayed. If you set Call Direction to Outgoing
Only, the Remote System Name and Remote System Password fields are not
displayed. If only incoming calls are allowed with this profile, the APPLY and TEST
button is not displayed.
My System Name
Enter the name that the remote system uses to recognize your network. This field is
case sensitive, so nortel is not the same as Nortel or NORTEL.
My System
Password
Enter the password the remote system will use to authenticate your system. This
field is case sensitive, so nortel is not the same as Nortel or NORTEL.
NOTE: The VPN connection profile at the remote site must be configured with your
System Name and System Password.
Remote System
Name
Enter the system name of the remote network that is dialing in. This field is case
sensitive, so nortel is not the same as Nortel or NORTEL.
Remote System
Password
Enter the password the router will use to authenticate the remote system. This field
is case sensitive, so nortel is not the same as Nortel or NORTEL.
VPN Tunnel
Select the VPN tunnel for this profile. VPN tunnels are configured separately. For
details, refer to
“Configuring a VPN Tunnel” on page 4-12
.
