Table 9-5. IP Filter Configuration, Add a New Rule Fields
Field Description
Rule No. Enter a number to identify this rule. You can configure up to eight rules.
Rule Name Enter a name for this rule.
Interface Displays the interface to which this rule applies.
Local IP Address Specify the IP address(es) of the local devices to which the rule applies. You can
select a single IP address, a range of IP addresses, a network, or any IP addresses.
Fields in the dialog box change depending on the method you select. For example,
if you select range, you enter the starting IP address (From) and the ending IP
address (To).
Local Port Specify the port number(s) of the local devices to which this rule applies. Fields in
the dialog box change depending on the method you select.

Remote IP Address Specify the IP address(es) of the remote devices to which the rule applies. You can
select a single IP address, a range of IP addresses, a network, or any IP addresses.
Fields in the dialog box change depending on the method you select. For example,
if you select a single IP address, enter the address.
Remote Port Specify the port number(s) of the remote devices to which this rule applies. Fields in
the dialog box change depending on the method you select.
