Selecting a Name from a Stored List
NOTE: You may receive certain display messages when making a
Direct Connect call. See “Understanding Status Messages” on
page 154.
Receiving Private Calls
When you receive a Nextel Direct Connect Private call, your phone will
automatically switch to Private mode. You will hear a chirp indicating that
someone is calling you. Press and hold the Push-To-Talk button to talk and
release it to listen.
Quickstore of Private IDs
Quickstore allows you to quickly store the Private ID for a received or sent call
without having to enter the Programming menu.
With the Private ID displayed:

Press
m
(the Mode key) until you see Prvt Ready.

Press
s
to scroll through the names. Or,
Press
n
until “Name” appears. Press
o
under “Name” and enter the
first initial of the name then press
s
to scroll through the names.

Press and hold the Push-To-Talk button on the side of the phone to talk.
Both phones will chirp before your voice can be heard.

Release the Push-To-Talk button to listen.

under “Store”.

Enter the name associated with the Private ID.

under “Store”. The Stored message displays with the name
that you entered.
