Receiving Voice Mail Messages
New Message Indicators
When you receive a new message, the following occurs:
•
New Voice Mail Waiting will display on the screen once your phone is
turned on (if your phone is off when the call is received).
•
The
g
icon will flash at the top of the display.
•
Your i2000plus phone will alert you every 30 seconds until you press
o
under “Exit” or “Dial”.
Transferring Calls to Voice Mail
Alert Receipt
You can delay Voice Mail alerts so that you are not interrupted by the alert tone
while on a call.

The first time you access Voice Mail, you will be prompted to follow a
tutorial in order to:
•
Create a new four- to seven-digit password (see “Changing Your
Password” on page 47).
•
Record your name (see “Recording Your Name” on page 48).
•
Record a greeting (see “Recording Your Active Greeting” on page
48).

When the system says, “Enjoy using Nextel Voice Mail,” your mailbox
is set up.
Press

under “End” while your phone is ringing to transfer incoming
calls directly to Voice Mail.
