9-36 Upgrading Your Server
Procedure 3
1.
Release the mirror.
To release the mirror, select [Program] – [Administrative Tool] – [Disk Management] in
[Computer Management] from the [Start] menu.
Select [Release mirror] from the menu appearing by right-clicking on the mirror volume.
2.
Delete all the volumes on the hard disk drive to be removed.
Delete the volumes by [Disk Management] in the same way as procedure 1.
Select [Delete volume] from the menu appearing by right-clicking on the volume.
IMPORTANT:
Delete volumes carefully. Note that volumes may not be deleted
from a normal disk.
The volume deletion disables the data to be recovered. Take the
proper action such as data backup if necessary.
3.
Shutdown the CPU blade system and turn off the power of the CPU blade.
4.
Remove the hard disk drive.
5.
Install a hard disk drive.
6.
Turn on the power of the CPU blade.
7.
Delete the removed disk.
To delete the disk, select [Program] – [Administrative Tool] – [Disk Management] in
[Computer Management] from the [Start] menu.
Right-click on the removed disk in the [Disk Management] screen and select [Remove
disk].
8.
Import the installed hard disk drive.
To import the disk, select [Program] – [Administrative Tool] – [Disk Management] in
[Computer Management] from the [Start] menu.
The installed disk has a different format. Right-click on the installed disk and select
[Import disk of different format].
9.
Add the mirror.
To add the mirror, select [Program] – [Administrative Tool] – [Disk Management] in
[Computer Management] from the [Start] menu.
Select [Add mirror] from the menu appearing by right-clicking on the volume to which
the mirror is desired to be added.
10.
If NEC ESMPRO Agent is used, reset the hard disk drive (see "Reset of Hard Disk
Drive").
