Adding a Network Printer
2.4.1
Requirements
The following are required to allow the BenchMike to print to a network-attached printer:
The BenchMike must be able to access the printer via Ethernet. See <Configuring the BenchMike for
Network Access>.
The operator must have a PC with a web browser attached to the same network as the BenchMike.
The IP address of the target printer.
2.4.2
Procedure
1. Open the browser on the PC, and navigate to the IP address of your BenchMike CUPS (Common Unix
Printing Service) server. For example, in this procedure, the BenchMike IP address is 192.168.15.233.
The address for CUPS web server on the BenchMike is: 192.168.15.233:631/admin/
2. In the resulting page, click the Add Printer button.
3. You may encounter a network warning when attempting to add the printer. This warning appears be-
cause the BenchMike does not have an identifying certificate for use on the open internet. This warning
may be bypassed by clicking the Advanced button…
