10.1 What is the Multiple CPU System?
(1) Configuration of a multiple CPU system
A multiple CPU system consists of two or more CPU modules mounted on a main
base unit, and each CPU module controls I/O module(s) and/or intelligent function
module(s) individually.

Note that redundant power main base units and redundant power extension base
units cannot be used with the C Controller module.
* 1 From the C Controller module, High Performance model QCPU, Process CPU, and Universal
Model QCPU (except for the Q00UCPU, Q01UCPU, and Q02UCPU), up to four CPU modules can
be used in a multiple CPU system.
From the Basic model QCPU and Universal model QCPU (Q00UCPU, Q01UCPU, and Q02UCPU
only), up to three CPU modules can be used in a multiple CPU system.
Applicable CPU models are shown in Table 10.1.
Redundant CPUs cannot be used in multiple CPU systems.
