ATDC Sensor
(1)
ATDC Sensor (Y, M, C)
• The ATDC Sensor for Y, M, and C is an optical type that detects toner-to-carrier ratio (T/
C) of the developer.
• A DC(-) bias is applied to the ATDC Sensor window to prevent false detection as a result
of toner sticking to it.
• There is a magnetic brush installed to ensure that the conductive glass surface is not
damaged.
• The brush lets developer brush stand up and whisks toner off the surface of the ATDC
Sensor window.
(2)
ATDC Sensor (Bk)
• A magnetic sensor is used for the Bk ATDC Sensor, as black toner absorbs light.
• The mylar attached to the conveying coil scrapes toner off the surface of the ATDC Sen-
sor window.
