3.2.3. Checking Status of DECAL Rate
User is allowed to check status of bones while running a decalcification phase by clicking on the relative icon
CHECK STATUS: heating is stopped and CAVITY cover can be opened.
During the control of the sample, the time of the phase of the decalcification stops.
If during the next 30 minutes you do not select any option on the control sample (see
below), automatically, the system resumes the phase of decalcification as set at the start.
1. Open the clear Perspex cover.
2. Remove the white cavity cover and place it in the removable cut out slot towards the rear of the work
area, on the right. Position the lid so the underside is facing the fume extraction.
3. Remove rack from the DECAL solution, by firstly lifting the rack and quickly draining off excess
solution on the rack, and using an absorbent pad place the rack on it, and check the status of
samples over the BLUE plastic work area.
ONLY when running a DECALCIFICATION PHASE, user is allowed to open the cover and
CHECK THE STATUS OF THE SAMPLES (BONES).
No other phase allows this possibility nor requires this check.
