3.2.3.2 Magnetometer Check
The following instructions are used only after a MAG-3000 (or MAG-3100) is removed for replacement
or repair.
1.
Calibration Check
a.
Apply power to the GH-3100 instrument system and wait approximately 3 minutes for the
"Aligning" message to disappear from the GH-3100 indicator display.
b.
Align the aircraft to a cardinal heading. Fast erect the GH-3100 indicator, wait approximately 3
seconds, and then read the heading displayed on the GH-3100 Indicator. The displayed heading
must not deviate from the actual heading by more than what system requirements allow.
c.
Repeat step b. procedure for each of the remaining cardinal headings plus a minimum of one
intermediate heading. The same requirements must apply.
d.
Remove power from the GH-3100 instrument system.

If the Magnetometer does not pass the Calibration Check the unit must undergo the Initial system
installation on page 3-1 (paragraph 3.2, page 3-1).
3.2.3.3 Detachable Configuration Module Check
The following instructions are used only after a DCM-3100 is removed for replacement or repair.
1.
Verify that part numbers are the same between the new and old DCM.
2.
Verify that option availability is the same with the new DCM as was available with the old DCM.
3.
DCM’s configured for heading information must follow the Heading Calibration Procedure
(paragraph 3.2.2.2.2, page. 3-3).
3.2.3.4 Final Installation Inspection
Make certain that indicator is properly secured in the instrument panel and all tools and foreign matter are
removed from aircraft. Place all avionics in the off condition and remove power from the aircraft. Record
the data obtained from Table 3-1 with the aircraft logs and records.
