3.2.3 Post Installation Checks (Remove and Replace Checkout)
3.2.3.1 Electronic Standby Indicator Check
The following instructions are used only after a GH-3100 is removed for replacement or repair.
CAUTION
The DCM-3100 is electrostatic sensitive device when not connected to
the GH-3100 Indicator.
1.
Install indicator and connect DCM-3100.
Aircraft or unit should not be placed into motion or be in motion during indicator alignment.
Technicians installing the GH-3100 must comply with CFR FAR PART 91.411.
NOTE
If the GH-3100 is removed for maintenance, the DCM-3100 remains
with the aircraft via a chain that is attached to the GH-3100 wiring
harness.
2.
Allow the indicator to complete Built-in-Test (BIT). A normal display will be viewed in
approximately three minutes. The display should reflect the attitude of the aircraft as it rests on the
ramp.
3.
Compare results on GH-3100 display with that of primaries.

Attitude will be

Heading will be

. (Only for units configured with heading).
c.
Airspeed indication will be minimum setting as configured in DCM-3100.
CAUTION
Wind gusts can cause the airspeed indication on the GH-3100 to exceed the
minimum setting configured in the DCM-3100.
d.
Altitude will indicate field elevation within
±
20 feet. (Ensure proper baro setting)
4.
Follow instructions given in Pneumatic Pressure Checks Paragraph (paragraph 3.2.2.2.10, page 3-8).
NOTE
If at any time either or both total or static pressure lines are removed
during maintenance or repair, the installer shall comply with CFR FAR
PART 91.411.
