Vertical Speed Digital Readout (Maximum and Minimum Readout)
a.
When VERTICAL SPEED DIGITAL READOUT is configured ON and altitude data is valid
and Vertical Speed data is greater than the limit 9,900 ft/min, then the Vertical Speed Digital
Readout is shown at the limit in AIR DATA FAILURE COLOR based on unit configuration.
b.
When VERTICAL SPEED DIGITAL READOUT is configured ON and altitude data is valid
and Vertical Speed data is less than the limit –9,900 ft/min, then the Vertical Speed Digital
Readout is shown at the limit in AIR DATA FAILURE COLOR based on unit configuration.
c.
For vertical speeds greater than 20,000 ft/min, the VERTICAL SPEED DIGITAL READOUT
is replaced with "----"
5.2.4.1.6 Airspeed (IAS Tape)
Airspeed is presented on the left side of the display area on a vertical tape (refer to Figure 5-6). The Mach
readout is located at the top to the tape. IAS tape format is shown in Figure 5-9.

Figure 5-9: IAS Tape Displays
The IAS tape displays a span of 100 knots when the menu is not shown, from the bottom of the mach box
to the bottom of the display.
The IAS tape span is 72.0
±
5 knots when the menu is shown, from the bottom of the mach box to the top
of the menu area.
The current IAS on the tape is aligned with the vertical center of the attitude display area as shown in
Figure 5-9.
The IAS tape scale digits and tic marks are white with a gray background and no border. The IAS tape
scale digit size is medium. The 100-knot tape scale digit is blanked for IAS markings below 100 knots.
The IAS tape is capable of displaying a minimum airspeed of 0 and a maximum airspeed of 450 knots. If
the aircraft exceeds the maximum airspeed the IAS Tape will continue to display the 450 maximum until
the aircraft airspeed decreases below the 450 knot maximum. The IAS tape is marked at 20-knot
increments and tic marks at 10-knot increments.
