3.2.2.2.9 TACAN System Test
The following paragraphs apply only to aircraft with a TACAN installed and the indicator configured to
display TACAN information.
1.
Set up a valid TACAN input to GH-3100 Indicator.

Select TACAN normal display using the GH-3100 Indicator menu and observe normal indication of
the following TACAN display data (refer to Figure 3-6).

Left / Right Deviation Indicator
•
Selected Course
•
To / From Indicator
•
Ground Speed
•
Time to Station
•
Distance to Station

Turn off the TACAN input and observe that the TACAN display data is removed.
3.2.2.2.10 Pneumatic Pressure Checks
1.
Push in on indicator (GH-3100) adjustment knob and observe that the barometric correction window
displays “STD” (29.92 In HG).
2.
Connect an Air Data Test Set to the aircraft pitot and static ports.
3.
Adjust pitot and static pressures to provide a vertical velocity of between 1000 and 3000 feet per
minute. Observe that the indicator altitude tape moves smoothly and properly displays altitude.
4.
Stop the air data test set at 10,000, 20,000 and 30,000 feet. Observe and record the indicator altitude
tape information as shown in Table 3-1, Test Paragraph T1.
NOTE
Test applies to uncorrected air data. Units using SSEC will need to
correct air data appropriately.
