Safety instructions for handling gas appliances
Proceed with care and awareness when handling the components of a gas appliance and follow these
safety instructions.
WARNING
Explosion hazard!
●
Regularly check the connecting hose to the gas cylinder for tears and porous
areas.
●
Check the expiry date on the connecting hose.
●
If a connecting hose is defective or porous, have it replaced by an authorised
specialist workshop.
●
Do not make any changes to the gas system.
●
Shut off the safety valve on the gas cylinder before refuelling and before driving
into a garage or onto a ferry.
●
Do not operate the gas system while the vehicle is in motion.
●
Immediately shut down the entire gas system if you suspect that the gas system
is defective (odour of gas, high gas consumption). Thoroughly ventilate the
motorhome and have the gas system checked
–
and repaired if necessary
–
by an authorised specialist workshop.
●
If you detect the smell of gas, do not operate any electric switches, plugs or
systems. Open flames and smoking are prohibited because of the danger of
explosion.
WARNING
Fire hazard!
●
Always keep flammable materials (e.g. pot holders, tea towels, paper towels)
away from the gas hob.
●
Never use the gas hob for heating purposes.
●
Never allow gas to escape unburned.
WARNING
Risk of suffocation!
Oxygen is consumed during the combustion of liquid petroleum gas. This creates
asphyxiating carbon dioxide and, in the event of “dirty combustion”, also toxic
carbon
monoxide.
●
Gas-operated appliances may only be used in very well ventilated rooms.
●
Before for using the gas hob, open at least one roof light or window.
