A Sonos device mus t become a s lave within a mas ter-s lave group to ens ure that it depends on another device.
This master-s lave group is then us ed for certain occas ions only (dynamic).
Now take a look at the initial scenario first:
•
You have one Sonos device for each room (als o known as a zone).
o
There is a Sonos device in the dining room (hereinafter referred to as Sonos device 1)
o
There is a Sonos device in the living room (hereinafter referred to as Sonos device 3)
•
The Sonos device is a mas ter in each room.
Technically, we now have two mas ter-s lave groups which compris e one mas ter each. A mas ter can play its
own mus ic independently of other Sonos devices .
•
Sonos device 1 is playing mus ic A.
•
Sonos device 3 is playing mus ic C.

Configure party mode
Objective: We wis h to do the following:
1.
The us er wants the dining room mus ic to be played in the living room as well but only when the us er ex-
pres s ly wants it to be played – when they pres s a certain button, for example. The mus ic is to be con-
trolled in the dining room when in party mode.
2.
It s hould s till be pos s ible for different mus ic to be played in the two rooms .
Solution: Define two master -slave groups in the ETS.
