DHCP (Dynamic Host Control Protocol) facilitates dynamic
assignment of IP addresses. If your network contains a DHCP
server, then you can use this server to configure the
's
network settings. If you do not have a DHCP server in your
network, or if you wish to connect the
directly to a PC,
you will have to manually set the IP address, subnet mask, and
possibly the default gateway.

IP address
:
Example: 10.3.3.236
Addresses such as x.x.x.0 and
x.x.x.255 are not permitted.
The IP address is used to identify the unit in the network. Every IP
address in a network must be unique. IP addresses are used to
send data from one network device to another. The IP address
consists of a four-byte number, with each byte separated by a dot.
It is divided into a network part and a device part, with the subnet
mask handling the division.
