1. For main bearing fitting procedure, see
Engine/Engine Block/BEARING(S), Crankshaft - Standard
Procedure
.
2. Start bearing in place, and insert Remover C-3059A into oil hole of crankshaft.
3. Slowly rotate crankshaft counterclockwise sliding the bearing into position.
4. Inspect main cap bolts (4) for stretching. Replace bolts that are stretched.

NOTE:
One main bearing should be selectively fitted while all other main bearing caps
are properly tightened.
NOTE:
The main cap bolts (4) should be examined before reuse. Bolt stretch can
be checked by holding a scale or straight edge against the threads (2). If
all the threads do not contact the scale (2) the bolt must be replaced.
