6 CRC Checksum
a numerical value assigned to a data file or block of data (usually expressed in hexadec-
imal notation). Check sum values are used to verify that the contents of a data file are
not corrupted in any way during transmission or encryption. The Checksum values of
both the original and duplicate files are compared to each other. If the values match,
then the duplicate file is considered to be acceptable. In instances where the Checksum
