VEGA™ Series Banknote Validator
Section 2
Clearing a Banknote Jam
To retrieve a Banknote Jam located inside the
VEGA Unit, proceed as follows:
1. Simultaneously press in on the two (2) Upper
Transport Unit Open/Close Latches located on
each side of the Unit, and lift the Upper Transport
Unit open (Figure 2-8
a
).
2. Remove the Course Reversing Guide Cover by
pressing in on the two (2) Guide Cover Release
Buttons (Figure 2-8
b
) located on each side of the
Cover.
3. Turn the Thumb Lock Knob (Figure 2-8
c
) to gain
access to the jammed Banknote.
4. Remove the jammed Banknote or foreign object
jamming the Transport Path.
5. Remove the Cash Box from the VEGA Unit.
6. Rotate the Cash Box Banknote Transportation
Gear in the necessary direction (Figure 2-9
a
) to
remove the jammed Banknote.
Cleaning Procedure
To clean the VEGA Validation Section, use a soft
dry or slightly damp with water lint-free Micro-
fiver Cloth.
Do not use any alcohol, solvents, citrus based prod-
ucts or scouring agents that may cause damage to
the Validation Section Sensors and/or Rollers.
Sensor and Roller Cleaning Procedure
To clean the VEGA Unit’s Sensors and Rollers,
proceed as follows:
1. Turn the power OFF on both VEGA Unit and
Host Machine.
2. Open the Upper Transport Unit.
3. Clean the appropriate path and Lens of each Sen-
sor.

Caution: Do not use Alcohol, thinner or
Citrus based products for cleaning any
Banknote Transport Sensors or surfaces.
The lenses can become clouded by
chemical evaporation residue that may
cause acceptance errors.
