VEGA™ Series Banknote Validator
Section 6
Reading the VEGA Software Version
To read the VEGA Unit’s Software Version, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. Select
“
EEPROM version read (V)
a
) from the Pull Down Menu from the VEGA
Calibration Program Tool Bar Menu Selection.
2. The
“
read complete
” Dialog Window appears
(Figure 6-86) to show current Software Version.
Click on the “
OK
”
Button (Figure 6-86
a
)
to accept the read state reported.
Calibration without PC
To perform calibration without the PC, proceed as
follows:
1. Confirm that the interconnection for performing
the VEGA calibration without the PC referring
illustration shown in Figure 6-87.
2. Turn the VEGA Unit’s power
OFF
.
3. Set DIP Switch DS1 Switches #1, #2 and #8 to
ON
, and set DIP Switch DS2 Switches ALL
OFF
as shown in Figure 6-88.
4. Turn the VEGA Unit’s power
ON
, and confirm
that the Front Panel LED slowly flashes at a
Green
Color rate.
5. Set DIP Switch DS1 Switch #1 to
OFF
to turn the
VEGA into the Adjustment Mode, and confirm
that the Front Panel LED slowly flashes at a
Cyan
Color rate.
6. Set DIP Switch DS2 Switch #1 to ON to begin the
Entrance Sensor Calibration without Reference
Paper. During the adjustment process, the Front
Panel LED flashes a
Cyan
Color at a high rate of
speed.
7. Once the Entrance Sensor Calibration without
Reference Paper procedure is complete, the Front
Panel LED slowly flashes at a White Color rate.
Set the White Reference paper in place (See
“Placing Reference Paper” on page 6-5).
8. Set DIP Switch DS2 Switch #2 to
ON
to begin the
Validation Sensor Calibration with the White Ref-
erence Paper. During the adjustment process, the
Front Panel LED flashes a White Color at a high
rate of speed.
9. Once the Validation Sensor Calibration with
White Reference Paper procedure is complete, the
Front Panel LED slowly flashes at a
Blue
Color
rate.

harnesses. Connecting harnesses
while the power is ON may damage the
VEGA or cause electrical shock.
NOTE: DIP Switch Block 3 settings
are not required to perform this
Calibration Procedure.
