the VEGA Banknote Validator Unit. This section
contains the following information:

Installation Procedure
Perform the following steps to install a VEGA SH
and SU/SD Unit.
SH Unit Installation
1. Mount the VEGA in place without Cash Box
installed.
2. Bolt the bottom of the VEGA Frame into place
using four (4) Hexnuts (Figure 2-1

3. Set the VEGA DIP Switches (Figure 2-1

) for
the proper communications Mode (See “DIP
Switch Configurations” on page 2-2).
4. Connect the VEGA Unit to the Host Machine
using a user supplied Harness as shown in Figure
2-1.
5. Turn the VEGA Unit Power
ON
.
6. Activate the VEGA Unit normally, and confirm
that the LED lighting sequence indicates an
active idle mode color pattern as set by DIP
Switch selection (See “DIP Switch Configura-
tions” on page 2-2).
SD/SU Unit Installation
1. Set the VEGA DIP Switches for the proper com-
munication Mode (See “DIP Switch Configura-
tions” on page 2-2).
2. Connect the VEGA Unit to the Host Machine
using a user supplied Harness as shown in Figure
2-2.
3. Turn the VEGA Unit Power
ON
.
4. Activate VEGA Unit normally, and confirm that
the LED lighting sequence indicates an active
idle mode color pattern as set by DIP Switch
selection (See “DIP Switch Configurations” on
page 2-2).
5. Turn the VEGA Unit Power
OFF
and disconnect
the Harness between the VEGA and the Host
Machine.
6. Connect the attached Bezel 2 Plate (Figure 2-3
a
)
on the VEGA SD/SU Bracket (Figure 2-3
b
)
using two (2) M4 Screws (Figure 2-3
c
1
&
c
2
).
7. Mount the VEGA SD/SU Bracket into place of
the Host Machine using two (2) Hexnuts (Figure
2-3

).
