VEGA™ Series Banknote Validator Calibration
and
Testing
Calibration
This section provides instructions for performing a
calibration of the VEGA Sensors.
When to Calibrate
Calibration should be performed when one of the
following conditions occur:
1. When removing one of the Circuit Boards
2. When the Banknote Acceptance Rate becomes
drastically degraded
Calibration Preparation
Figure 6-13 illustrate Tool and Harness Connection
to calibrate a VEGA Unit.
Confirm that the interconnection for performing the
VEGA calibration with the PC referring the illus-
tration shown in Figure 6-13.
Reference Paper Usage
This portion provides information concerning the
KS-325 White Reference Paper and the KS-326
Black Reference Paper settings and uses.
Calibration using the White and Black Reference
Paper requires the same procedure. Perform the fol-
lowing steps to calibrate the VEGA Unit using the
individual calibration papers.
1. Press in on the Upper Transport Unit’s left and
right side Open/Close Buttons (Figure 6-15
a
),
and lift the Upper Transport Unit open (Figure 6-
15
b
).
2. Insert the Black Sponge Portion of the Reference
a
) into the Bezel Guide’s
opening (Figure 6-16
b
) allowed for the Sponge
width (Approximately 5mm); then align the lower
part of each Sponge to the edge of the Bezel
Guide (Figure 6-16
c
).
NOTE:
Before performing Sensor
Calibration, clean the Sensors to ensure
calibration accuracy (See “Sensor and
Roller Cleaning Procedure” on page 2-5).

Reference Paper. If the Reference
Paper covers any part of the
Entrance Sensor, calibration will not
be performed correctly.
However, when placing the Black
Reference Paper, a part of the black
portion covers the Entrance Sensor.
