Idling Stop System
The idling stop system is a system that automatically stops and restarts the engine to
improve fuel efficiency, reduce exhaust gas and reduce idling noise when the vehicle is
stopped temporarily, such as in heavy traffic or at a stoplight.
ADVICE
• Only use the idling stop system when stopping temporarily, such as when at a
stoplight. When stopping for long periods of time, stop the engine by switching
the power mode to "OFF" (models with passive entry and start system) or
turning the starter switch to the "LOCK" position (models without passive entry
and start system).
NOTE
• When an idling stop system abnormality occurs, the idling stop system OFF
indicator light will flash and the idling stop system will not operate.

NOTE
• The multi-collision brake operates when the following conditions are met.
- When the airbag system is operating normally
- When the brake system is operating normally
- When the electronic stability control function is on
• The multi-collision brake does not operate when the following conditions are
met.
- When the airbags do not deploy even though a collision occurs (e.g. a light
collision or a collision against the rear of the vehicle)
- When the system components are damaged by a collision
- When the accelerator pedal is depressed while the multi-collision brake is
operating
