Cache Backup Module (CBM) of RAID Controllers
Each RAID controller comes with a pre-installed DDR II DRAM module and an
innovative Cache Backup Module (CBM) methodology, which consists of a

flash
backup module (FBM) and
(2)
battery backup unit (BBU). In the event of a power
outage, cached data is quickly distributed to a flash backup module with the support
of a BBU. Because of a shorter discharge time, BBU life expectancy is extended, and
data is safely kept in flash regardless of the traditional 72 hours limitation.
