Controller Interfaces
The RAID system’s controller features interfaces including host ports, Ethernet
management port, serial port and a SAS expansion port.
The JBOD system’s controller features two SAS ports to daisy chain a RAID system
and other JBODs.

S48 RAID
The S48F-G/R2842-6 RAID storage system’s controller features

Fibre channel host ports:
The host ports connect to host computers.

Ethernet management port:
The controller modules come with an Ethernet
port for local/remote management over network. For dual controller models
operating in dual-active mode, system configuration is handled by one of the
controllers. In the event one controller fails, the Ethernet port on the
surviving controller inherits the configured IP and continues the monitoring or
configuration service. Shielded cables must be used to protect against
emissions. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to a LAN hub port of
the local network.

COM1:
The controller module comes with one serial COM port. The serial
port is used for accessing the controller-embedded configuration utility on a
management computer that allows you to configure and monitor your array
and upgrade firmware over a VT-100 terminal emulation program running on
a management computer. For dual-controller models, a serial Y-cable is
