Note:
The VDX-6326 SBC from the jump start kit is configured to select the first option and launch the
NK.bin OS runtime image by default. Refer to appendix N for information about how to change the
DOS default selection.
As the Loadcepc DOS bootloader launches the Eboot.bin Ethernet bootloader from the target
device, a series of bootme requests are sent to the development station to trigger the OS runtime
image download process.
As the image download takes place, the
Download Runtime Image to MyTargetDevice
screen
display download activities, as shown in Figure 32.
Note:
Once launched, the Eboot.bin Ethernet bootloader will continue to broadcast bootme message to
the development workstation and time out after about 3 minutes.

Downloading OS runtime image to target device
After the image download process is completed, the CE 6.0 OS runtime image downloaded to the
target device will launch. Be patient… It takes a few moments (up to a minute and more) for the
image to boot up.
When the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 screen is displayed on the target device, it’s an indication the
boot process is completed, as shown in Figure 33.
