Config.sys
This is the startup configuration file for the DOS operating system.
After power up, the target device boot to DOS and launches a selection menu with the following
options:
1.
Load OS image with from local storage
2.
Load OS image from development station with DHCP service
3.
Load OS image from development station with Static IP 192.168.2.232
4.
Clean Boot (no commands)
Before connectivity can be established to download OS runtime image from the development
workstation, we need to configure target device connectivity options and associate connectivity
with the target device to work through the exercises in this section.
Configure Target Device Connectivity Options
To establish connectivity and download CE 6.0 OS runtime image from the development station to
the target device, we need to configure a target device connectivity profile and associate the profile
to the target device (VDX-6326 SBC) in use.
In this section we will work through the steps to create a target device connectivity profile for the
VDX-6326 SBC, used as the target device for the exercise.
Note:
The exercise in this section is applicable to development environment using dynamic IP addresses
with DHCP, and development environment using static IP addresses.
Continue from the previous exercise, with MyWinCE OS design project active, select

Associating the default
CE Device
profile to the target device in use can be establish by modifying
the default
CE Device
settings.
However, it’s helpful to create unique device profile for each target device, to save time and
minimize unnecessary repetitive steps in the subsequence development tasks.
