Passwords
Passwords can be any combination of up to eight alphanumeric characters. You can enter longer
passwords, but the entries are truncated to include only the first eight characters. The privileged-access
password can be set from service processor menus or from System Management Services (SMS) utilities.
See the
IBM TotalStorage NAS Gateway 500 Service Guide
for information about System Management
Services. The general-access password can be set only from service processor menus.
Note:
Before disabling passwords, you must disable the general password before you disable the
privileged password. Failure to disable the general password first will result in the privileged user
being locked out.
