Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS)
Function And Operation Principle
The Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS) is located in the engine coolant passage of the cylinder for
detecting the engine coolant temperature. The ECTS uses a thermistor which resistance is in inverse proportion to
the temperature (NTC: Negative Temperature Coefficient). During cold engine operation, the ECM adjusts the
injection amount and the timing by using this ECTS output signal to avoid engine stalling and improve drivability
