4.2 Installing Cables (UPS Scenario)
Context
This section describes how to connect the CIM power cable to the adapter and the CIM
communications cable to the UPS in the UPS scenario.

Procedure
Step 1
Connect the cable between the CIM and the Hall effect sensor.
When a CIM manages multiple battery strings, first connect the Hall effect sensors on the positive
and negative cables of battery string 1 respectively to the corresponding ports on the CIM. Then
connect the Hall effect sensors on battery string 2 to the CIM in the same way, and so on. The
following describes cable connections by using one battery string as an example.
If the battery string is configured with the neutral wire, measure the currents of the positive
and
negative battery string cables. If the battery string is not configured with the neutral wire, measure
the current of either the positive
or
negative battery string cable.
If the battery string is configured with a neutral wire and each of the positive and
negative battery string cables connects to one Hall effect sensor, connect the Hall effect
sensor on the positive battery string terminal side to the HALL_1 current monitoring port
on the CIM, and connect the Hall effect sensor on the negative battery string terminal
side to the HALL_2 current monitoring port on the CIM.
